Since RVs were licensed for wider commercial use in Malaysia, demand for vehicle-camping gear has grown quickly. Coleman's new portable fridge is aimed directly at this market — a compressor-based unit that runs efficiently off a vehicle's 12V outlet or a portable power station.
What sets it apart
Unlike thermoelectric coolers, the compressor design can hold temperatures well below ambient even in Malaysia's heat, making it suitable for multi-day stays without a nearby ice supply. A low-battery cutoff protects vehicle batteries from being drained overnight.
Price and availability
Coleman positions the fridge as a mid-range option, sitting between basic cooler boxes and premium dual-zone units from specialist brands. Local camping retailers are expected to stock it ahead of the year-end travel season.
