Osprey refreshes its best-selling daypack with a redesigned hip belt

7/14/2026 · Camp Freaks Editorial

Small changes, big usage

Osprey's daypack line is one of the most commonly recommended "first backpack" options for new hikers, and this update focuses on refinements rather than a redesign. The hip belt padding has been reshaped for a wider range of body types, and the shoulder straps now use a slightly more breathable mesh.

Capacity and use cases

The pack remains in the 20-26L range, suitable for day hikes and short overnight trips when paired with a separate sleeping bag stuff sack. It remains a popular entry point for campers upgrading from generic hiking bags.

Availability

Osprey products are distributed through several outdoor retailers in Malaysia, and the refreshed model is expected to gradually replace the previous version on shelves.
